Remote Control Buttons

Standard Remote Layout:

  • Power Button
  • Navigation Buttons (Up, Down, Left, Right)

Smart Function Buttons

  1. Home Button: Accesses the smart TV home screen and main menu interface.
  2. Voice Control Button: Activates voice recognition for hands-free control (on supported models).
  3. Quick Settings Button: Provides instant access to commonly used settings like picture mode and sound options.
  4. App Shortcut Buttons: Dedicated buttons for popular streaming services (Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, etc.).
  5. Google Assistant Button: Summons Google Assistant for smart home control and searches.
  6. Settings Button: Direct access to comprehensive TV settings menu.
  7. Info Button: Displays current program information and signal details.

TV Panel Buttons

Power Button Turns TV on/off, usually located on the bottom center or side panel
Menu/Function Button Accesses main menu, cycles through input sources
Volume Buttons Adjusts audio volume up/down

Navigation Buttons Directional controls for menu navigation (some models)
Input/Source Button Switches between different input sources

  • 6-Series: Bottom center panel with touch-sensitive controls

Button Functions

Power Button Functions

Single press: Turns TV on/off. Long press (5 seconds): Force shutdown. Very long press (10+ seconds): Hard reset when TV is unresponsive.

Navigation Buttons

Move through menus and options. OK/Select button confirms selections. In some apps, these buttons control playback functions.

Input/Source Button

Cycles through available input sources: HDMI 1-4, AV, Component, USB, and built-in apps. Long press accesses input settings.

Menu Button

Accesses main settings menu. Quick press opens/closes menu. Long press may access advanced settings or engineering menu.

Smart Buttons

Dedicated app buttons launch specific streaming services. Some models allow customization of these shortcut buttons.

Voice Control

Activates microphone for voice commands. Supports channel changes, app launching, volume control, and smart home integration.

Advanced Button Combinations

Factory Reset

Press and hold Power + Volume Down buttons simultaneously for 15 seconds

Service Menu

Press Menu button 5 times quickly (varies by model)

Software Update

Home + Settings buttons pressed together for 5 seconds

Screen Mirroring

Input button held for 3 seconds to enable casting mode

Audio Only Mode

Mute button pressed 3 times quickly turns off display

Closed Caption

CC button or Settings + Volume Up combination

Troubleshooting

Common Error Indicators

  • Blinking Power Light: Power supply issue - Check power cable and outlet
  • No Response: TV frozen - Unplug for 2 minutes then restart
  • Remote LED Not Blinking: Remote battery dead - Replace batteries
  • Button Sounds But No Action: Software issue - Perform software update
  • Intermittent Response: Weak batteries - Replace all remote batteries
  • Wrong Functions: Wrong remote mode - Check remote is set to TV mode
